Human Mentality
VERSE ONE
We are people. We make mistakes.
It’s fair to say this life isn’t perfect.
There comes a time when we ought to be honest with ourselves,
look in the mirror, and chat face-to-face.
There’s nothing to hide; we can tell the truth.
Are we awesome and cool? Hell, who do we wanna fool?
Our world is all made up on social media feeds
of purported facts with staged selfie cheats.
They slim the waistline to make us look good.
You won’t see the wrinkles; we camouflage them, too.
Our mental health suffers because we worry too much.
Stress level takes off, we got layers of flab.
My God, why do we care what people have to say?
They don’t know the real us. Everyone’s image is fake.
What’s viral and spiral is impossible to stop.
The matrix we live in is really messed up.
CHORUS
VERSE TWO
Media broadcast fresh portions of news.
Manipulate us, tell us half-truths.
Everyone’s passing on what they have heard.
Adding new facts which were not there.
We need fresh air; we’re hungry for living.
Another cooking programme on telly is streaming
with new recipes from the most famous chefs.
Still, the whole country feeds on a fast-food diet
No sign of agreement on stopping climate change
In the end, we’ll all die. Yeah, that makes sense
We stand no chance with dictators in power
Who instigate wars and conflicts, damn cowards
Pseudo governments spend hefty billions of pounds
But we’ll foot the bill because they’ve got no funds
Have we lost touch? Are we just mad?
We landed on Mars to make a mess there
CHORUS
